Christmas Recap

ChristmasSara Michelle B.1 Comment

We had the most wonderful Christmas this year and hope you and yours did as well! It started with the most beautiful, snowy Christmas Eve. You couldn't have ordered a prettier snowfall for the holiday. The flakes were so fluffy and beautiful that we even let the kids play outside in the snow on Christmas Eve night after getting home from Evan's parent's house! It was magical.

This Christmas was also super special because it was baby Graham's first Christmas! He is definitely our best gift of the year. This was also the first year that Miles really "got" the concept of Christmas and was really excited to celebrate the holiday. He got a Polar Express train and was over the moon excited to play with it! So fun to see Christmas through his eyes. Leo on the other hand... Oh my sweet Leo! He did NOT get the concept of Christmas and was really overwhelmed. He did not like opening presents and pretty much cried for two days straight. My poor boy! Maybe next year buddy!

We hosted my family on Christmas day and had a wonderful snowy day filled with laughs, great food, gifts, delicious cookies and awesome quality time together. Here are some snapshots of our Christmas!

Navy Blue Christmas Home Tour

ChristmasSara Michelle B.19 Comments

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by my 2017 Christmas Home Tour, especially those of you coming over from The Tattered Pew - Welcome! This year I've paired up with over 30-bloggers for the Home for the Holidays Blog Tour - organized by Jenna at the Wife in Progress Blog - and I'm so excited to share my home amongst these talented ladies!

For those of you who are new to my site, I'm Sara! A mom of three boys, a wannabe decorator, a hydrangea lover, and a admirer of all things blue, white, and gray. My family lives in Cleveland, Ohio in a cozy 1940s center hall colonial that we have remodeled from top to bottom. Although I'll admit, I'm chomping at the bit for a new house to transform.. (Stay tuned!)

Anyway, for Christmas this year, I decided to add lots of hints of navy blue! From gingham pillows, to grosgrain ribbon, to matching family pajamas, there are small hints of it all throughout this year's decor. It balances well with all of the white wool, fresh greenery, and general aesthetic of my home!

Without further ado, here is my house!

2017 Christmas Decor Inspiration

ChristmasSara Michelle B.1 Comment

This year I decided to totally change up my Christmas decor since the past 6-years we've lived in this house we've pretty much done the same thing. Time for a change! Can you guess what direction I decided to go in? If you guessed "Blue Christmas" you are correct! (I know, so predictable!)  Not over the top, bright blue... just hints of navy along with lots of fresh greenery and warm whites.

Here are some of the items that inspired me on Pinterest for my decor this year (Although most of what you see in these pictures are black, I could see it all done in navy for a similar, beautiful effect!

And here are the items I'm using - paired with a LOT of greenery-  to execute my vision:

Stay tuned to see how I pull it all together -  my Christmas Home Tour will debut on the blog on December 4th!

Christmas, My HomeSara Michelle B.1 Comment

Welcome to the Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour series! As you may know, I've teamed up with some absolutely amazing bloggers in order to share our 2015 Christmas decor!

This year, with a baby due SOON, I decided to keep our decor very clean and very simple. I pretty much stuck to greenery, white lights, white poinsettias, and of course fresh hydrangeas.

Without further ado, here are the pics!
