Driving Around the Hamptons

Curb AppealSara Michelle B.Comment

Ok, so I'm not REALLY driving around the Hamptons... but sometimes when I'm on a boring conference call or have a few minutes to kill, I find myself on google maps randomly "driving" through amazingly beautiful places. (I know, I'm a HUGE dork!) But seriously, I can't figure out why I don't just live in the Hamptons, Every street and every house is postcard perfect.

Here are some of my incredible screenshots of my "drive":

A One Story House

I'll be honest, I've never considered buying a single story home. Not once! They've never appealed to me. That is, until I had two kids.

Making my way up and down the stairs with both boys, keeping Miles from going up and down the stairs when he isn't supposed to, and bringing laundry up and down the stairs (we do LOTS of laundry).... it is a challenge! I can't help but think how amazingly convenient it would be to have everything on a single floor. Much to my own surprise, I have found myself dreaming of one story homes lately. Look at these beautiful ones I came across on Pinterest... dreamy indeed!

Here is an example of a one story floorplan that I LOVE! Big great room, and amazing outdoor living room and terrace. This floorplan is from Hot and Humid Solutions, which can be found here.

My Current Home Obsession

House Hunting, Dream HomeSara Michelle B.3 Comments

This beauty recently went up for sale in our area. I lovvvvvve it!It has 5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, and is 3,400 square feet. It needs some updating and some layout changes, but it has a TON of potential!

The house is overflowing with character and charm. The curb appeal is 100% my style. I love the second floor balcony, the painted brick, and the unique driveway. The inside has so many great details as well. Imagine painting the wood paneling in the vaulted family room a crisp white and brightening up the space. It would be amazing. Imagine reconfiguring the kitchen and taking advantage of the beautiful windows in the back of the house.

I can't even look at the pictures without scheming and dreaming! This house is truly one of a kind.

Pretty great potential, huh?
